Maret Orliss is the Associative Director of Programming and Events for The L.A. Times. She joins Nate this week to talk about The L.A. Times Festival of Books at USC which is the largest cultural festival in America which this year will include 9 stages featuring special guests Carrie Brownstein, Arianna Huffington, Buzz Aldrin, and much more. Then, Nate closes the show out by reading Tom Perrotta’s “Snowman” as suggested by a listener. Then, Robyn Clark treats us to a reading of “I Saw Hamilton So Now I’m Going To Orphan My Son” by Katie Schorr. Later, Nate reads a chapter from the novel The Friends of Eddie Coyle by George V. Higgins. Finally, in honor of the 4th of July, Robert Baker walks through a patriotic reading of the Declaration of Independence.
