Randy and Jason kick off the show with what Jose Canseco has been up to and weather or not his most recent accident will affect his baseball career moving forward. Then, the Sklars are joined by sports anchors Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole, who pitch the idea of an old school sports show, just two anchors, highlights, and a little tickling. Later, Jay and Dan touch upon the adversity that Canada has faced in the wake of Wayne Gretzky having had a daughter, as well as swim diapers and how they are turning babies into NBA wives, and what happens when Fleetwood Mac unexpectedly shows up next door. Also, in the first official drama out of Cleveland, the gang discusses “Gade Gate” and what the would happen if professional sports replaced Gatorade with Capri Sun. Lastly, Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, stops by the show to explain how much he’s worth and how the Cowboys are going to take NFL by storm.

Curator Paul Scheer and Podcast Developer Matt Gourley join Adam for this conversation recorded six hours after Wolfpop went live (and an all-nighter for Adam). They talk about how the idea for a pop culture focused network came together, and their strategy for building a slate of shows. Paul and Matt discuss how the focus was first on finding passionate hosts, then helping them develop formats that work best. Then they share some of the process of recruiting the Wolfpop talent–like cold-calling film critic Leonard Maltin, host of Maltin on Movies–and how Paul helped bring people on board by sharing his own experience hosting a podcast within an already busy schedule.
